I was on the fence about attending a Luau while in Kauai but I'M SO HAPPY WE DID! The Smith Family Luau was such an unforgettable experience. The grounds/gardens were beautiful and the Imu ceremony was so memorable. My kids loved exploring the gardens and feeding the birds! The food and drinks definitely exceeded our expectations- so delicious! The show was so entertaining and culturally engaging! I could feel the Ohana! The price of admission was definitely worth the experience!

The luau was a great way for us to spend our last evening on Kaua’i. We arrived as they opened the entrance to the beautiful gardens. We were given a shell lei and offered a tram ride through the gardens. We opted to walk and enjoyed the different garden spaces, water features and lots of peacocks and geese wandering the grounds. Dinner was in a large covered space. Most of the tables were reserved for families/groups. It was not easy to find out where to sit as a twosome, but it did work out. T

Do it, you won't be disappointed. Worth the money, worth the wait, worth every penny. Book early!

Incredible Evening from start to finish. Beautiful 30 acre grounds unlike going to a luau at a hotel. My wife has celiac disease and must have gluten free food. I contacted them ahead of time and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to accommodate her dietary needs. Kamika Smith (general manager and owner) was a pleasure to talk with as well. Not only are all the items clearly marked "gluten free" on the buffet lines - they also made a special plate of gluten free items delivered to our table. Some

The website says go early and see the botanical gardens. They are closed prior to checkin. There is nothing else in the area to see or do.

Amazing! Loved everything about this experience - from the stories to the food to the luau to the botanical gardens - it was memorable!

Along with renting kayaks to Secret Falls, this was the favorite part of our trip for our family (2 teen boys). The gardens are amazingly beautiful and they take you on a trolley ride to share info about the plants and flowers. Dinner and drinks were great, and they don’t go light on their pours for the alcohol options. You can buy a bag of food to feed the birds. The imu presentation is cool and the actual dance was amazing. Just loved everything about this so much! I had contacted them last mi

If you’re looking for an authentic Hawaiian luau in Kauai, the Smith Family Luau is as authentic as it gets. Don’t let the name fool you. This is a multi generational Hawaiian family luau. You’re welcomed into beautiful, lush gardens, and arriving early is a must to enjoy the scenery, trolley ride, native birds, and animals. My kids especially loved feeding the ducks. The food was excellent. Everything was ono (my only complaint was eating too much!). The evening ends with an incredible show th

Just an absolutely first class operation all the way around. Amazing, friendly service. Really good food. Gardens and atmosphere are awesome. Show is excellent. Really just had an amazing time. Disney-level organization and excellence (meant as a compliment).

My husband and I did this luau on Christmas Eve and had a great time! The people were very friendly, the food was amazing (especially the pork), and the show was very good! About the only thing I could complain about are the seats at the show. While they all have a great view of the stage and are padded, they are not very comfortable. After sitting for a hour, my behind was a bit sore!

This place has been doing this for over 80 years and it shows. They moved 400 people through a garden tour, full dinner and dinner entertainment, and on to an amphitheater of a full blown show in 3 hours. Like a well oiled machine. Food was actually pretty good too. If you want to do a Luau, this is the only real choice on Kauai.

When working hard trip to Kawai. We decided to do more than one luau. The Smith family luau seem to be a popular one so we went ahead and booked that along with the Ahi Lele Fire Show ( which we actually preferred.) Last night we attended the Smith Family Luau. Since we had both attended luaus on other islands we knew what to expect. Smith family is your basic luau with music and good food. The property is actually a botanical garden and it is stunning. When you enter, they take a picture with
