Which island is flooding in Hawaii?

Kauai receives the most rainfall of any Hawaiian island and is most prone to flooding, particularly along the North Shore and in the Na Pali region. Mount Waialeale near Kauai's interior is one of the wettest spots on Earth, averaging over 400 inches of rain annually. Flash flooding can close roads to Haena State Park and north-shore beaches with little warning, especially December through March. The Big Island's Hilo side and Puna district also flood regularly due to orographic rainfall from Mauna Kea. Oahu's Windward coast and Ko'olau Mountains experience frequent runoff. Maui's central valley and Upcountry can see heavy rainfall in winter. Check Hawaii Department of Transportation alerts before driving in mountainous or coastal areas during any island's rainy season.
