How to enjoy Maui on a budget?

Maui on a budget requires strategic choices. Accommodation: stay in Kihei rather than Kaanapali or Wailea — prices run 30–50% lower for similar quality. Food: Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade, Da Kitchen, and Tin Roof offer excellent local food well under 0 per person. Activities: Snorkeling at Kamaole Beach or Ulua Beach is free. Haleakala National Park costs 5 per vehicle but sunrise is one of Maui's top experiences. Road to Hana costs only gas money if you drive yourself. Paid experiences worth the cost: Four Winds Molokini snorkel (0–130) offers the best value catamaran tour. Pacific Whale Foundation whale watching (7–90 for base tours) during December–April is affordable and excellent. Skip the helicopter tour if truly budget-constrained — it's spectacular but 29–719 per person. Travel in September–October for the lowest accommodation rates.
