What is the cheapest month to go to Kauai?

September and early October are the cheapest months to visit Kauai. Summer peak season ends after Labor Day, and accommodation rates drop 20–30% before the holiday surge begins in late November. Flights from the West Coast can be 00–200 cheaper round-trip compared to December–March or June–August peaks. Hotel availability is highest in September, giving more negotiating room. The weather in September is warm and dry on the south shore with light trade winds — excellent for helicopter tours, Na Pali boat trips, and beach days. Whale watching is not available (that runs December–April), but all other activities operate normally. Avoid mid-December through early January and spring break weeks — Kauai's small supply of hotel rooms means prices spike sharply. Book accommodation for September travel at least 4–6 weeks ahead.
