Are helicopter rides safe during pregnancy?

Most Hawaii helicopter operators restrict passengers after 28 weeks of pregnancy and recommend consulting an OB/GYN before flying at any stage. The primary concerns are vibration, noise levels, altitude (helicopters typically fly 500–2,000 feet), and the physical difficulty of emergency egress. Seatbelt harness pressure on the abdomen is also a factor operators cite. Blue Hawaiian, Mauna Loa, and Jack Harter all require a physician's written clearance or outright restrict pregnant passengers in the third trimester. First and second trimester passengers are typically allowed with written doctor approval. If you're pregnant and want an aerial experience, consider a fixed-wing scenic flight, which tends to be smoother and flies at lower altitudes. Consult your OB at least a week before travel to allow time for documentation.
